For infill projects
On infill projects, where maintaining or incrementing production requires intervention, and/or drilling new wells, Abalt can apply its know-how to scoping objectives and applying best engineering and commercial practices.
This know-how includes apart from reservoir, well, and production engineering best practices; supply chain management practices, lessons learnt, technical limits challenges and health, safety and environmental achievements, much of it accumulated by working in the challenging North Sea environment.
Field redevelopment & enhancement planning
We apply an integrated approach to the technical and economic issues involved in the generation of options for the redevelopment and value enhancement of oil and gas fields.
Conceptual & detailed well design
We perform conceptual completion design for the life cycle of the well, taking into account well performance, lifecycle cost, reliability and completion types, along with the design of downhole sand exclusion mechanisms. We provide details of safety valve setting depths, material selection, design for reservoir compaction, packer fluid selection, perforations, wellhead, etc. We design the appropriate reservoir/well interface, determine if sand failure will occur during lifetime of the well and determine the optimum method for sand production control and/or management, while also determining the well’s operating envelope.
Integrated Reservoir Management
Abalt integrates people, tools, data, and technology for the economic optimisation of oil and gas recovery. The service covers definition of well/reservoir surveillance plans to obtain key data required for reservoir management, and the application of technology and knowledge to reservoir systems to increase its value, increment recovery, and optimise operating costs. It also covers planning of field development, operations, and surveillance campaigns, and enabling reservoir performance monitoring and evaluation.
Field & well data validation and quality control
We define data acquisition requirements, which are needed for well design; and also define downhole production/injection data acquisition requirements like downhole pressure, temperature, and others. We also ensure that all data is sorted, managed, quality controlled, validated, and managed with an auditable trail in corporate or project databases.
We define well/reservoir surveillance plans to obtain key data required for the field (re) development, operation, and production optimisation, with the associated costs and production deferments. We identify candidates for production logging & related cased-hole logs, design the operation, and monitor operation and evaluate results.
The service also includes designing the criteria for quality and validation of gathered data.
