To ensure effectiveness, efficiency, quality, safety, solutions and results, and ultimately guarantee enhanced value when delivering our engineering services, we have developed the innovative Value Enhancement System.
Value enhancement
Adding Value
Abalt Solutions enhances value by integrating people, disciplines, knowledge, expertise, and technology resources through a detailed application of various controlled processes to translate engineering challenges or client’s requirements into responsive, timely, cost-effective solutions. These controlled processes make up the core of the Value Enhancement System (VES™).
VES™ was developed in 2000 by our integrated team of industry-recognised professionals. We use it to convert client’s requirements into a value enhancement strategy, identifying the key value-adding elements, and then deploying people, knowledge, technology, and resources with maximum effectiveness and efficiency, therefore surpassing the value that could be delivered by just applying conventional project management and engineering practices.
VES™ makes available a systematic approach for tackling all the engineering challenges of the exploitation of hydrocarbon reserves to which Abalt has been called to intervene. It does it by blending: truly relevant fresh knowledge, the work of well-qualified engineers, renewed working processes, collective brilliance, and proven best-in-class technology implementation during the performance of our service.
VES™ is designed to suit all work scopes.
Implementing VES™
VES™ implementation involves the timely and competent application of sequential processes aligned within a structure which permit the inclusion of all necessary engineering, business, controlling, and improving elements.
The mechanisms we use to implement VES™ are the Value Enhancing Vectors - a combination of knowledge, technology, and procedures directed to accomplish value-adding objectives - which are engaged into the project by the Value Enhancement Team (VET™) - a bespoke combination of Abalt specialists in reservoir, well, and production engineering along with surface, subsurface, and production technologists.
VES™ includes:
- Asset management, business, and commercial practices
- Engineering procedures
- Value Enhancement Team (VET™)
- Technology infrastructure
- Knowledge base
VES™ provides:
- timely and competent response to operational demands
- complete engineering packages or bespoke and/or niche solutions
- enhanced asset's values
- outstanding returns on investment
- supported factual decision-making
- comprehensive knowledge transfer
The VES™ process
As an example, in cases where it is required to optimise the production or enhance the performance of a particular oilfield, Abalt works with the client's asset manager to identify value-adding objectives. Once the VET™ is assembled, preliminary technical requirements are determined, economic feasibility is assessed and the execution strategy is generated.
Once the data has been interpreted, the team generates a range of options and a statement of project and business requirements. The project strategy is then set.
We the initiate technical design, economic modelling and project design criteria. This is followed by a detailed schedule and the initiation of the design and engineering process. Financial, quality, safety control and contracting functions are integrated throughout the execution of the project, and continuous performance assessment ensures excellence and efficiency.
The final stage is the completion report, project evaluation and review. Lessons learned are recorded for future knowledge transfer within the client's organisation.

VES assures competence and due diligence on revitalising major offshore asset.
A Major Oil Operating Company was experiencing critical problems for meeting production supply commitments from its most important offshore asset due to a combination of sand production and lifting capacity problems.
Abalt provided an integrative approach for assessing the needs for sand control and artificial lift.
Recommended sand management practices were documented and provided, along with the selection, design, and specification of necessary equipment for the most appropriated sand control and artificial lift methods. VES™ was crucial for assuring our client the most appropriated solutions was competently sought and generated.
Our independence and vast knowledge based allowed us to successfully implement the right technology.
Production levels were recovered in a 33%.
Operating costs were reduced by 17%.
